American Bridge is pleased to announce that the Allegheny County Department of Public Works has recently awarded AB the South 10th Street Bridge Rehabilitation project located in our headquarters hometown – Pittsburgh.
With this project comes a lot of familiarity. 85 years ago, AB completed the original superstructure. AB was the prime contractor for the construction of the 1,275′ suspension bridge over the Monongahela River.
The work on this new contract includes under deck and tower bridge painting, main cable and anchorage dehumidification, main cable elastomeric wrap installation, existing anchorage vault roof reconstruction, roadway and sidewalk reconstruction, deteriorated concrete repairs, expansion dam replacement, main deck asphalt and water proofing membrane replacement, and other miscellaneous rehabilitation items. The work will be completed in 2019.
