New York, NY – American Bridge Company, New York District, has been awarded a $21.3 million contract for the main span rehabilitation of the Ogdensburg-Prescott International Bridge crossing the St. Lawrence River in New York.
The contract includes the removal and replacement of the bridge railing, light standards and electrical wiring over the length of the entire structure. For the main suspension spans the work involves removal of the raised concrete sidewalks and removal and replacement of the open steel grid deck and deck support stringers. American Bridge will perform fatigue crack retrofit to the web in the areas directly over the longitudinal plate girders for specific transverse floorbeams in the approach spans. Additional work includes miscellaneous steel repairs and painting.
Construction will start immediately and the project’s anticipated completion is scheduled for November 15, 2011.
