This project was for construction services for structural improvements for the Throgs Neck Bridge over Long Island Sound in New York City. The suspension bridge is 2,910’ (887m) long with six lanes. The work on the bridge included the fabrication and installation of structural protections for hanger ropes and main cables, and structural steel tower reinforcements and protections. All work was undertaken during full operation of the bridges. American Bridge was responsible for all maintenance and protection of traffic. All AB personnel were subject to background checks and daily security clearances. This bridge was originally constructed by American Bridge in 1960. |
