American Bridge Hires Director of IT

On Monday, American Bridge Company (AB) announced that Jay Copenhaver has been hired to lead the company’s information technology efforts as the Corporate Director of IT. The hiring of Jay follows directives to expand and strengthen company-wide resources, part of a strategy implemented this year by American Bridge Holding Company, parent company of AB.

Jay joins AB with over 25 years of IT experience, 19 of which he dedicated to GAI Consultants, Inc., eventually becoming the Chief Information Officer and Assistant Vice President of the company. In this position, Jay gained immense experience and achieved great success leading a team of 20 IT professionals to support a 300% growth in the company. Jay’s ability to work with various types of clients, both internal and external led to successful implementation of network and storage technologies, custom applications, websites, strategic planning, and enabled technical and marketing efforts. AB believes that with Jay’s track record, he will be a great asset to AB and will support the continued efforts of growth for the company.

Jay has been devoted to the information technology field for his entire career. Early on, he gained experience in the IT field at Allegheny Power Systems Corporation as the EDP Production Control Analyst, and then at Teledyne Rodney Metals as the Corporate Network Manager. He is also the founder and past president of the Business Computing Group of Southwestern Pennsylvania, and in 2007 and 2012, Jay was a finalist in the Pittsburgh Technology Council’s Chief Information Officer (CIO) of the Year contest.
