American Bridge is organized into business units called Districts. These units are responsible for estimating, bidding, and operating projects within their defined business. They have full profit and loss responsibility for their operations. The District offices are supported by corporate services including specialized and check estimating, financial and accounting, safety administration, engineering, human resources and training, marketing and communications, equipment, risk management, and legal. The current District operations of American Bridge include:
Midwest - With offices in Pittsburgh, Chicago and Kansas City, the Midwest District pursues and executes complex bridge and marine construction projects in a broad region of the central United States with a principal focus on the Great Lakes region and the inland waterway system including the Ohio, Missouri, and Mississippi Rivers and their tributaries.
Western - Based in Oakland, California - Pursues and executes bridge and marine construction projects primarily in California, but also in Nevada, Utah, Arizona, and New Mexico.
Tampa - Pursues and executes bridge and marine construction projects in the gulf coast from Florida through Texas and the Caribbean.
Major Projects - Pursues and executes large domestic bridge construction projects delivered under alternative delivery systems, i.e., public/private partnerships or design/build, and bridge projects outside of the United States.
New York - Pursues and executes bridge and marine construction projects in the New York City metropolitan area, including the metropolitan portions of New Jersey and Connecticut.
The major project types undertaken by American Bridge include Cable Supported, Movable, Truss, Arch, Girder, and Railroad Bridges, Bridge Rehabilitation and Reconstruction, and nearshore Marine Construction projects. The major manufactures of American Bridge include new steel bridges of all types and components for steel bridge rehabilitation.
